I’m Chrissy Miller, a creative entrepreneur and event professional with over 20 years of leadership experience ranging from directing large-scale festivals to building teams that thrive under pressure. My career has centered on one core belief: when people are aligned with their strengths, they deliver their best work.
My Story
My professional journey began in performance and music education, where I learned the importance of practice, discipline, and creating spaces for others to shine. That foundation expanded when I served as Director of Programming for the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, curating artistic experiences and supporting creative communities.

Alongside my arts leadership, I’ve spent more than 20 years in music and community leadership roles, as a Music Director and mentor for young adults. These experiences deepened my commitment to developing people, nurturing teams, and leading with purpose.

Over the past decade, I’ve built on that foundation through large-scale event work, serving as Director of Talent Movement for the Essence Festival of Culture, leading artist logistics and talent management for high-profile performers and dignitaries. I’ve also supported productions such as the Super Bowl, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and national corporate conferences.
Across these roles, one theme has been constant: when people are aligned and equipped, the entire production — whether a concert, a festival, a community event, or a corporate experience — comes alive with excellence.
Why I Founded The Creative Mill
The Creative Mill began when I was offered the opportunity to contract directly with the Essence Festival of Culture, after years of working as a subcontractor. What started as creating space for myself quickly grew into a life mission to support others’ visions, build strong teams, and empower people to fulfill their purpose.
Beyond The Mill
Beyond running The Creative Mill, I also speak, teach, and create resources that help people discover their purpose and align their work with impact. My passion for leadership and creative development continues to shape new initiatives designed to equip and empower the next generation of professionals and culture shifters.
